My 2012 Summer

Wow! I haven't updated this thing in a while!

I've been crazy busy with my summer life, so let me update you on what's going on.

I'm done all my exams as of a month ago, they wen't pretty well. I'm not as happy as I could be with my marks, but I learned a lot more skills towards time management, and organization that I'm sure will help me out in my upcoming years.

I've recently had to think about my thesis, which is a little frightening - I have to have it picked before I leave for Australia... I'll let you know if that happens. Other than that, school at Brock is going pretty good. I've been doing some volunteer website design, which is what I'm good at, so I don't mind spreading my skills around to help those who can't write any code.  :D

Let me update you about my upcoming trip!

  • There are 33 days until I leave
  • My flight is 2 days long, and stops in Atlanta, LA, Sydney and finally Perth
  • I've still yet to get my visa, or pick all my courses
  • Everything is extremely expensive
  • It's going to be totally awesome.
All of those things being said, I have basically put the trip on the back burner, and stuffed it to the back of my mind, because right now I'm completely focused with my current job. For the sake of random googling and lurking, I'm not going to include the name of the organization I work with, but I will say that I work once again at Brock, and I work at a Spring/Summer camp for kids. Classes come from grades 5-8 for their end of the year trip, to learn about science, have a camp experience, and have a lot of fun.

This summer, I work 60 hour weeks, make a lot less money than I did last summer, but I love it 10 times more. My previous summer job was a lot of fun too, but the energy I get from kids in their classes is just awesome; and the knowledge that I'm inspiring curiosity in some kids for the sciences is just a feeling that nothing's topping right now; not to mention there is an awesome staff backing me up.

This summer has been unbelievable, and there are still 3 weeks left, so I'm pumped to see how it finishes.
